Glitch
A Game-Ready Character

~Premise~
This character is was created for a school project. She's part of a character duo consisting of the energetic bunny-inspired character "Glitch" and her calm, cat-like counterpart "Patch".
They're the main characters of an imaginary tactical shooter game set in a retro-futuristic city.
Glitch is designed to show her chaotic nature. She's agile and has a few abilities which allow her to move quickly and glitch around to gain an advantage over her opponents. Many futuristic tech-gadgets help Glitch and Patch in their battles around the city and offer a lot more surprises for the
most engaging gameplay possible.

Modeling & Texturing
For this character I fully modeled her in Blender.
I worked with a Subdiv workflow so everything can be scaled up or down to meet polycount needs. This was a relatively straight forward process, even though it was the first time I used this workflow for a whole character.
At last I textured everything in Substance Painter using a slight painterly style inspired by the texturing workflow I already used in my Cozy Dungeon project. I put everything into Blender again, did a quick render and that's it :)

>>Workflow<<
The first thing I did was to draw a sketch of her over a quick 3D mockup of her general body shape. I wanted many layers of clothes with different textures to overlap eachother. One thing I decided on early on was that she needed a bunny headset and a transparent cropped jacket.
A bunny perfectly incapsulates her quick-wittedness so that's why I wanted the headset.
My team partner and I also decided to keep the overall clothing style very streetwear inspired and cool. I wanted her to have an interesting and cool silouhette but still be able to move quickly in combat. We were highly inspired by the games Splatoon for it's cool vibe and Ratchet & Clank (PS2) for the clunky gadgets.
I gave her a short, layered skirt and legwarmers over her chunky sneakers to keep the clunky vibe but give her leg freedom. To round off the design I added a lot of accessoires inspired by Japanese "Decora" fashion. Hair clips, random cables everywhere and stickers on her legs add to her unpredictable nature.

Making the Goo-Gun<<
For her weapon I decided to give her a Goo-Gun which shoots glowing Goo.
This Goo not only deals damage to opponents but is also useful in the game world. With the energy of the Goo you can activate different gadgets
and other tech-y things scattered around the
city to aid you in your battles.
There are many weapons to choose from for Glitch and Patch and each combination of weapons you and your teammate choose has endless possibilities for special combined attacks and abilities!

Done :)
If I had more time I would've pushed this character a bit more
and I also would've explored more concepts for weapons and gadgets but
I guess that has to wait for another time! :D
